Newsletter January 2010 – Botox Brow Lift

What is Botox Brow Lift?

In a never ending effort to keep our patients and potential patients ahead of the market for cosmetic services, we bring you this month an overview of a Botox procedure called the Botox brow lift. While Botox is only FDA approved for use between the eyes, with increased use, it has developed into a tool for treating many areas of the face. In this case, the Botox brow lift is an excellent alternative to those that want a little lift to the eyelids but are not prepared to go the surgical route just yet.

The purpose of the Botox Brow Lift is to give tired eyes a rest. Many of our patients that are not ready for surgery, but that notice a definite change in the appearance of their eyes look for a way to decrease the “tired” appearance caused by saggy or heavy eyebrows. The Botox browlift is designed to lift and open the eyelid, making the eyes appear less tired.

The Botox Brow Lift is accomplished by relaxing those muscles in the forehead and upper (and outer) eye area that pull downward on the brow. By relaxing “depressor” muscles – the ones that pull downward on the brow – the muscles that pull upward can take over. When this happens, the brow lifts slightly and the eyes appear more open and full.
