Overview | Treatment | Before and After Pictures

Because each scar has it’s own unique set of characteristics that demands customized treatment, it’s really hard just to put a single cost down as an answer to this question.

Celibre Medical offers treatments for unwanted scars that can include any of the following:

  • Steroid injections
  • Q-switched lasers
  • Pulsed dye lasers
  • Fractional lasers
  • Restylane filler injections

Many times, complete treatment of an unwanted scar can include various combinations of any of those services listed above. Obviously, the more different types of treatments we have to use, the more expensive it can be. For example, a red scar may simply require one pulsed dye laser treatment, but treatment of a raised and dark scar may mean doing steroid injections, followed by fractional laser resurfacing followed by q-switched laser. The treatment given in the former example will cost less than the one given in the latter.

The most important factor to consider with cost is what your goals for treatment are. Maybe the texture of your scar doesn’t bug you at all, but the color drives you crazy. Then make sure your practitioner understands this and creates a plan that targets the color only and leaves the texture alone. You certainly want to get what you pay for, but you also don’t want to pay for something you don’t want either!

Talk with you provider. Make sure your goals are heard and understood. Make sure you understand what the proposed treatment does and why it’s being suggested to you. Also, ask some other questions like what’s the experience level of the person whose taking care of you. How many scars do they typically treat in a week, a month or a year? How many different devices or services do they offer for the treatment of unwanted scars?

You can get a real feel whether or not your practitioner or practice has expertise in the treatment of unwanted scars by the kinds of answers you get to these questions. If you don’t like what you hear, then keep looking. We’d love to talk to you today. Celibre Medical has already helped thousands of patients just like you and we’re confident we can help you too.
